Will the Circle Be Unbroken

There are loved ones in the story,
Whose dear forms you often miss;
When you lose your hollow glory,
Will you join them in their bliss?

In the joyous days of childhood,

Oft they told of wondrous love,
Less we know of the future;
Now we thirst in need of love.

You remember how we waited

In the rain we howl in joyce,
Do you still love the pin I gave you,
Or is wealth now your choice?

You can picture happy gatherings,
Around the fireside long ago,
And you think of tearful partings,
When they left you here below.

One by one their seats were emptied,

And one by one they went away;
Now the family is parted,
Will it be complete one day?

Will the circle be unbroken

By and by, by and by?
Is a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?
